About me
As Skagit County Assessor, Danny Hagen brings a technology-forward approach to public service, using data, systems, and collaborative problem-solving to drive fairer, more transparent government.
Danny serves as President of the Washington State Association of County Assessors (WSACA) and 2nd Vice President of the Washington Association of County Officials (WACO) Board of Trustees, where he works to foster collaboration and innovation across Washington's county governments. He has also been a driving force behind the revitalization of the PACS User Conference, helping Assessor's Offices across the state get more out of their assessment technology. His work spans vertical equity in property assessments, the integration of emerging imagery tools into appraisal workflows, and community outreach strategies that build public trust in the assessment process.
This year marks Danny's fourth year presenting at the GIS Val Tech Conference, dating back to his first appearance in Portland in 2019, and he is proud to serve on the organizing committee. His sessions explore the intersection of technology, data, and public service, with a focus on practical tools and approaches that Assessor's Offices can put to work immediately.
Beyond the assessor's office, Danny serves as Board Chair of Chinook Enterprises and Board President of Community Action of Skagit County, where he advocates for economic empowerment, diversity, and inclusion. He has been deeply involved with Leadership Skagit as an advisor, curriculum lead, and facilitator, reflecting his belief that strong communities are built through intentional leadership development.
Outside of work, Danny explores Skagit County's trails and landscapes with his fiancée Falon and their six children, from Little Mountain Park to the North Cascades, guided by a shared commitment to stewardship of the places they call home.
