Falon Hoven is the Chief Deputy Assessor for Whatcom County, Washington, where she oversees property valuation, levy certification, and taxpayer programs in one of the state's most complex assessment jurisdictions. Her career began in a small rural county, giving Falon a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of assessment operations, including data entry, senior exemptions, appeals, modeling and levy administration. That broad foundation has enabled Falon to lead modernization efforts in a larger county environment. She has played a key role in developing streamlined workflows, automated quality-control tools, and digital portals that expand transparency, improve staff capacity, and enhance services to taxpayers. Falon currently serves as Education Coordinator for the Washington State PACS User Conference Committee, working collaboratively with counties across Washington to improve systems, documentation, and shared solutions. She is passionate about practical innovation, equity in assessment, and building tools that support both frontline staff and good governance. Falon brings a systems-focused, operational perspective to discussions on technology adoption, process improvement, and public trust in property assessment.
Outside of work Falon and her fiancé Danny are raising 6 children in a house full of 4-legged (and one 3-legged) companions. They enjoy hiking, travel and just about any experience you can throw at them!
