Bridging the G.A.P. (Generations Across the Professions): Multigenerational Perspectives Inside and Outside the Assessment Office (Half-Day Workshop)
Monday, February 22, 2027 - 8:00 AM - 12:00 Noon
Instructors: Jennifer Rearich, MAS, CAE, RES, CPM, Business Analytics & CAMA Supervisor, Maricopa County (Arizona) Assessor’s Office
Nathan Langdon, GIS Mapping & Property Ownership Manager, Maricopa County (Arizona) Assessor’s Office

In modern assessment offices, practitioners must navigate age diversity on two distinct fronts: managing an internal workforce that spans four or more generations and serving an equally diverse public of property owners. Led by two Millennials who have bridged the gap between traditional institutional workflows and modern data-driven environments, this interactive 4-hour workshop provides practical strategies to work with all generations.

Participants will explore the characteristics of each generation, their strengths and weaknesses that they bring to the workplace and learn how to break down those internal workplace challenges and retain critical institutional knowledge.

Participants will identify how to align varying communication and work styles across generations, while simultaneously applying those concepts to property owners of every generation.

The workshop will comprise a series of highly interactive discussions, examples, and perspectives, leaving attendees with a better generational understanding and an actionable roadmap for working with modern teams and delivering excellent public service.
